Hello! Welcome to my fresh blog where I've decided to start keeping updates of my upcoming projects! First, a little bit about me!
My name is Mimiru, but everyone calls me Mimi.💙🖤💜 I am a super nerdy, deaf/hoh BIPOC who is a writer, artist, gamer, and lover of all things creative! For over a decade I've dedicated much of my life to traveling and meeting all kinds of amazing people! People who write, read, cosplay, and just live in different worlds than you or I!
Some of my many favorite authors are JR Ward, Lauren Biel, HD Carlton, Rina Kent, JR Tolkien, George RR Martin, JL Beck, Laura Thalassa, Andrzej Sapkowski, Scarlett St. Clair, Raven Kennedy, and C Hallman. (For real if I just started listing everyone then this post would never end. ^.^;)
My first published work is a series of short fairy tales that were released in Modern English Fairy Tales. It is a collective textbook for Japanese University English courses in Japan. These tales are based on Celtic Mythology and feature themes that are designed to teach lessons- much like the classics we all know and love. I am considering doing a re-edit of these and publishing them in an anthology sometime in the near future so keep an eye out for teasers, info and other updates!
It's been a while since this was published though, and I am ready and back to start really diving into my passion for writing!
What's next? What's first? So glad you asked! Although I love creating short stories, my real passion lies in the dark, gritty and sexy world of villians and the men and women that they love! My works will feature intensely dark themes with loads of trigger warnings so please be sure to heed content warnings before reading anything. Your mental health matters. I will be making a separate post with a little more detail about my upcoming project!
Why the shift from fantasy into dark romance?
Many reasons, but also because there are a lot of topics in our modern society that doesn't get enough conversation. Mental health, trauma, physical and mental disorders, sexism, racism, phobias that are debilitating for people but taboo to our society... I want to write about these things and bring more awareness and diversity to our already amazing pool of fantasy and fictional worlds. The world we live in is not always pretty, but that doesn't mean we cannot find love, adoration, solace, protection, desire, respect and a love for ourselves in the darkest times of our lives.
You aren't alone and everyone deserves to be loved.
And...I have a lot of characters, worlds and stories I simply want share with you! I desire to weave tales about the broken who learn how to pick up the pieces or the unbroken who struggle not to break. And...AND...Who doesn't enjoy reading about the villain getting the girl/guy? Let's face the facts here....
